I was talking to a representative of a local society for the visually
impaired, and in asking her what Dundee City Archive information leaflets I
should have converted to braille, she informed me that most younger V.I.
people, particularly schoolchildren and undergrads, are acquainted with JAWS
for Windows 95/98/Me/XP Home, which can mid-Atlantic-tinnily
voice-synthesise text in Word. Can I ask list members if anyone has used
JAWS or anything similar for your searchroom computers that are available
for public use?
Thank you,
Iain Flett
