Our Library colleagues at The Natural History Museum have asked me to bring
details of the following course to your attention - please forward details
to any librarians/local studies librarians and archive colleagues with
responsibility for managing book collections.
A one-day workshop "Care and Display of Books" is being organised by
library staff at The Natural History Museum, London on May 14th 2004.
Starting at 10.00am and finishing at 17.00pm, the workshop introduces
the key elements of good practice for the care of books through
presentations, videos and practical, hands-on sessions. The course also
includes information on the correct method of displaying books while on
temporary exhibition. This introductory workshop is suitable for
Library staff and Archivists and all those responsible for book collections.
The cost of the workshop is £100 (inc. VAT).
The course is lead by Julie Harvey, Collection Development Manager and
Kate Edmondson,ACR-MIPC Paper Conservator NHM.
