The Freedom of Information Act comes into force on 1 January 2005. This
seminar will give historians an opportunity to learn more about the Freedom
of Information Act and its potential impact on their work. It will enable
long term research trends to be identified and this will help inform
decisions about reviewing records for potential release. It will offer the
opportunity for historians to express their views about the process whereby
records are released and provide them with the latest thinking within
government departments.
