a little bit of background. I used to produce RAIN as a weekly postings organized into subject specific messages (usually 6-8 topics). the intent of sharing with the UK lists was to make everyone aware of issues that affect all information managers. I am what is known here in the US as geo-bachelor. I work over 120 miles from my family mon-fri seeing them only on the weekends. composing RAIN postings on the weekends took time away from my family. Also many folks found that the flood of postings on Monday was almost an impossible task to deal with in trying to review the stories. Or links to stories had gone dead by the time I had posted the messages.
Many folks in the US are subscribed to both the archivists and recmgmt-l lists here and as such receive duplicate postings. Most have set up rules in the email client that moves the RAIN postings directly into a specific folder for those messages.
having said all that. If the majority of the subscribers or the listadmins or whoever controls decides that I should cease daily postings I shall abide by that decision.
Peter
PS - I know await the flood of out of office replies that this response will cause. ;-)
