Thanks to all of you who responded to my message asking for lists of
Freelance researchers. The only two replies which I got and which were
really of any use, were the following:-
The National Archives have a list of researchers but they seem to
concentrate on very specific topics. Although this was not really of any
use to me, it might be for some of you.

Someone also gave a very useful site which is I believe more general and
although it obviously has stong links with family history, some researchers
do seem to carry out more general research.
Quite a few researchers themselves have contacted me directly and offered
their services. I'm afraid I cannot recommend individuals I have no
knowledge of, but can only recommend a list of researchers. Any freelance
researchers out there, please do not e-mail me your details as they will
not be kept on file. That said, if anyone is interested in having the
details of these researchers, I have kept their details temporarily in case
they were of use to any colleagues. These will, however, be shortly deleted
from my incoming email box.
Thanks again to all those who contributed to my request.
