Hello
Our very old audio cassette player has finally broken and
we are looking to replace it. Our use isn't heavy at the
moment (we don't have a large collection of cassettes
- probably a hundred or so scattered between collections).
Perhaps the equipment would be used by one or two users a
month. It would be used under supervision in the reading
area in Special Collections. I'd appreciate any advice
about suitable models, brands or suppliers of such
equipment or if anyone knows of web sites etc which might
be helpful.
I am looking at preservation copying of the cassettes too,
but that is a separate issue.
We also don't have any equipment for playing video
cassettes, CDs or DVDs in Special Collections. Archives we
receive increasingly contain such material so I'd also
appreciate suggestions re these kinds of equipment too.
Thanks very much for your help. I'll post a summary of
replies to the list.
Best wishes
Alison
