Just received "Maternity Services in 2002 for women with type 1 and
type 2 diabetes". It covers England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

In the survey results it has several that affect us directly, results
are units meeting criterion:
Glycaemic control is best monitored using HbA1c: 91%
Laboratories should use a DCCT-aligned method: 74%
There should be locally agreed protocols...: 69%
Steve Gould is the RCPath representative on the CEMACH Board. (And
consultant paediatric pathologist in Oxford.)
