Dear Colleagues,
I'm currently preparing an undergraduate course on German Enlightenment
thought and was wondering whether anybody could recommend decent English
translations (complete or partial) of the following:
- Herder, Auch eine Philosophie der Geschichte...
- Lessing, Erziehung des Menschengeschlechts
- Schiller, Über ästhetische Erziehung...
Also, a question on translation: In one of Nietzsche's letters I found the
expression "Urväter-hausrath" (KGB I/2, 358, for the Nietzscheans). Does
anybody know how to translate this into an elegant English expression?
Many thanks and nice holidays,
Christian Emden
