2nd STAFFORDSHIRE CONFERENCE ON CLINICAL BIOMECHANICS

Friday and Saturday 23rd /24th April, 2004
Following this year's successful conference, the 2nd conference on
clinical biomechanics will be hosted by Staffordshire University in
association with the Podiatric Biomechanics Group at the University
Campus, Stoke on Trent.
This conference, while providing a forum for information dissemination
on clinical biomechanics, will facilitate discussion on research and
case studies in the field of applied biomechanical principles to the
treatment of patients and foot protection. This conference will focus
on lower limb biomechanics with an emphasis on therapeutic and sports
The conference will give opportunities to participate in workshops/
instructional lectures. There will be debate and analysis of issues
surrounding current models of clinical biomechanics and their role in
providing clinical understanding and effective treatment of patients.
Keynote speakers include Dr Joseph Hamill, University of Massachusetts,
Amherst, MA, USA; Dr. Michael Edmonds Kings College Hospitals, London
and Dr. Wesley Vernon, Sheffield NHS Trust.
CALL FOR PAPERS
Short abstracts are to be submitted by post or e-mail by 30th January,
The text should be limited to two pages of A4, with the first page to
include the Title of Presentation, Author(s), Corresponding Author's
Name, Address, Telephone number and e-mail address. Second page should
include a full abstract with introduction, methodology, results and
Acceptance of abstracts will be communicated to the corresponding
authors by: 13th February, 2004
All successful abstracts and selected articles will be published in the
International Journal of Podiatric Biomechanics.
PRESENTING AUTHORS WILL GET A FREE REGISTRATION TO THE CONFERENCE ( Need
