a better term is fire-resistant. Each such cabinet/safe comes with a rating such as 1 hour, 2 hour and on up. As others have mentioned copy and dispersal is a much better VR protection method.
As my friend Hugh Smith (Firelock) taught me, fire resistant safes are prone to crashing through floors if in a multi-story facility due to their weight and must be allowed to cool down after the fire is extinguished. this cool down period can take days. If not allowed to cool down you can risk spontaneous combustion as you open the safe or drawers an oxygen enters the formerly sealed environment.
