Dear Colleagues,

  As you know, the 36th congress of the International Institu of Social
Sciences that was supposed to be held in Beijing in July 2003 was
unfortunately postponed due to the SRASS epidemic in 2003.

This event will take place in:

 Beijing on the 7th to 11th of July 2004.

 The topic and the organisation remain unchanged

Social Change in the Age of Globalization.

You will find all the information you need at the following address:
http://www.iis2003beijing.com.cn/

                         - declaration of intention;
                        - registration form ;
                        - fees
                        - programm
                        - session programm;
                        - session venue,
                            etc...

       Like the last year, I have been asked by the Scientific Committee to
organize one session on

 Globalization and  Youth Sociology

During this session I would like to invite scholars to reflect upon the
impact of the ongoing process of globalization on Youth Sociology, that is
to say, inviting youth exprts to take into account in their approaches and
analysis, ongoing transformations that occur all over the world due to the
Globalization process.

Tradition Youth sociology has known its most beautiful hours at the time of
the Industrial Society, in Occident and the Western part of the globe.
This time is over. Developed western societies are no more “industrial
societies”. Somehow, they are becoming “Post- …” And more and more,
scholars are becoming aware that Western concept of Youth sociology hardly
apply to non occidental context of living.

The 36th Congress of the IISS provides us with an excellent opportunity to
start re-thinking the sociological way of constructing and dealing with
the youth issue in (post) modern time.

People who are interested in taking part in this session are kindly invited
to contact me at the following address : [log in to unmask]

Registration to the congress has to be made ON LINE on the congress
website:
: http://www.iis2003beijing.com.cn/

The dead line is fixed on the 31st March 2004. But participants are
strongly invited to proceed to their registration and to send their abstract
as soon as possible.
