Like the last year, I have been asked by the Scientific Committee to
organize one session on
Globalization and Youth Sociology
During this session I would like to invite scholars to reflect upon the
impact of the ongoing process of globalization on Youth Sociology, that is
to say, inviting youth exprts to take into account in their approaches and
analysis, ongoing transformations that occur all over the world due to the
Globalization process.
Tradition Youth sociology has known its most beautiful hours at the time of
the Industrial Society, in Occident and the Western part of the globe.
This time is over. Developed western societies are no more “industrial
societies”. Somehow, they are becoming “Post- …” And more and more,
scholars are becoming aware that Western concept of Youth sociology hardly
apply to non occidental context of living.
The 36th Congress of the IISS provides us with an excellent opportunity to
start re-thinking the sociological way of constructing and dealing with
the youth issue in (post) modern time.
People who are interested in taking part in this session are kindly invited
to contact me at the following address : [log in to unmask]
