to Business, Engineering, and Science (DCABES2004)

Dear Colleagues:

You are invited to submit an extended abstract and/or a proposal to
organize a technical session.  All accepted abstracts should be
extended by the authors to a full paper, which will be published as
a book of proceedings to be distributed at the conference. Selected
papers will also be considered for journal publication soon after the
Symposium.

IMPORTANT DATES:-

January 31st  2004 - Extended abstracts/draft papers (about 4 to 5
                                pages) and/or technical session
proposals due.

February 29th  2004 - Notification of acceptance.

June 30th  2004 - Camera-Ready papers & early-registration due.

September 13th - 16th 2004 -  DCABES2004.

Proposals to organize technical sessions should be submitted as soon as
possible.  All accepted papers are expected to be presented at the
conference.

SCOPE OF DCABES2004 :-

1. Distributed/Parallel applications
 Computational methods in science and engineering
 Computational finance
 E-engineering and e-science applications
 E-commerce applications
 E-education applications

2. Distributed/Parallel algorithms
 Algorithms exploiting distributed computing environment.
 Image and vision processing, geometric modelling, and fractals.
 Grid based computing, algorithms and applications.

3. System Architectures
 Real-time embedded systems for business, engineering, and sciences.
 Distributed information systems for business, engineering, and
sciences.
 Compression and decompression for multimedia applications.
 Web resources management and system design for e-science and
e-engineering.
 Web performance analysis for business, engineering and sciences.

4. Software tools and environments for distributed platform
 Use of MPI, PVM, Java. Platforms for web-based simulation and
computing.
 Grid middleware and tools.
 Tools and platforms for E-education.
 Distributed systems and databases.
 Mobile agents and computing


EXTENDED ABSTRACTS/DRAFT PAPERS :-

Abstracts or draft papers of 4 to 5 pages should be submitted to
Professor Guo and Professor Chen using the email address

Deadline for abstracts: 31st January, 2004.

PROPOSAL FOR ORGANIZING TECHNICAL SESSIONS :-

Each technical session should have no less than 3 paper presentations.
The session chairs will be responsible for all aspects of their
sessions,
including soliciting papers, reviewing, selecting.

Proposals to organize technical sessions should include the following
information: name and postal and email addresses of the proposer,
title of the session, a 200-word description of the topic of the
session,
and a short description on how the session will be advertised (in most
cases, session proposers solicit papers from colleagues and researchers
whose work is known to the session proposer).

Deadline for technical session proposals: 31st January, 2004.

PROPOSAL FOR EXHIBITION :-

An exhibition is planned for the duration of the Symposium.  We have
reserved more than 20 exhibition stands.  Computer vendors, software
developers and publishers who are interested to exhibit at the Symposium

should contact

    or Professor Guo ([log in to unmask]).

All exhibitors will be considered to be co-sponsors of the Symposium.

EVALUATION PROCESS :-

Acceptance of extended abstracts is based on originality, significance,
clarity, soundness and relevance to the Symposium.  Notification of
acceptance of abstracts will be given on February 29th , 2004.  Each
paper will be reviewed by three researchers working in the appropriate
area.

Full papers are to be submitted in Camera-Ready form
on/before June 30th 2004.

PUBLICATION :-

The Symposium Proceedings will be published by Wuhan University of
Technology with ISBN reference.  Hardcopies of the Proceedings will be
available at the Symposium site.

Selected papers will be published after the Symposium in appropriate
journals as Special Issues.  Tentative arrangements have been made to
‘Scientific Programming’ and ‘Computers and Mathematics with
Applications’.

LOCATION OF THE SYMPOSIUM :-

The Symposium will be held at the Yu Jia Tou Campus of
Wuhan University of Technology, Wuhan, Hubei, China.  Wuhan
situates on the central Yangtze River is a strategic military position
in
historical China.  Details of the campus and the conference venue will
be
available later in a dedicated DCABES2004 website.
