Dear all,
We have recently received a report validating the installation of a capping
layer in a landscape area around some flats (low level contamination).
This involved hand digging sample holes to check the depth of the cap and
samples taken within and at the bottom of the cap. The report contained
copies of the lab analysis data sheets which when examined had been altered
and were actually from a different site. It appeared that a deliberate
attempt had been made by the consultants to manipulate the data sheets to
show that there was no problem. When this was queried with the consultants
their only explanation was that it was a practical joke by somebody that
has now left the company. They have since provided the original data
sheets which are exceptionally different to the ones in the report and
incidate that they will need to do further work. The reason I am
contacting you all is that I am concerned about the practice adopted by
this consultancy (deliberate or otherwise) and I am wondering if there is a
suitable 'body' that we can report them to. Any ideas?
Thank you in advance,
Glynnis
