MS Visual C++ 6.0.

I chose C originally in the hope that it would not introduce a theory-laden
bias into the development of AI concepts. I'm not sure that this is entirely
possible.

I have found that tools like Lisp, Prolog and Poplog impose too many
constraints. With appropriate classes (ready-made or home-grown) it is
possible to program at a 'high' level but, at the same time, it is possible
to work closer to the machine if that is necessary.
