Hi Phil,
Would you mind providing an example of a Meta-data record that uses a VDEX
file so we can use that to figure out how to use the VDEX file in the
classification section? Creating a VDEX file was easy, but making the
connection is less obvious.

Hello All,
Two pieces of news about the IMS VDEX specification.
1) A new version of the Reload-VDEX editor is availble from
http://www.icbl.hw.ac.uk/vdex/ . As well as letting you create VDEX files
this
version shows how VDEX files might be used when filling in the
Classification
section of a IMS Learning Resource Meta-data record.
2) The VDEX spec is nearing the end of its public review stage. If you have
any
comments on the specification, now is the time to make them. Comments so far
(from the last SIG meeting):
- Why create VDEX when zThes exists?
- Why have profiles?
[The answer to the second question is that the idea is to make it clear that
an
implementation which only supports flat lists is in no way deficient, so
implementers can create fast lean applications of VDEX for such cases].
If you want to look at the VDEX spec you can find it here:
