The National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE), among other things, provides guidance on the safety and efficacy of interventional procedures to the NHS in England and Wales.
We are now looking for an enthusiastic individual with an interest in the evaluation of healthcare interventions to join our new team. Reporting to the Programme Director and working closely with him and alongside the existing analyst, you will provide research-based overviews of procedures for the Interventional Procedures Advisory Committee, using material from a wide variety of sources.
The Interventional Procedures Programme is developing rapidly and you will need to be flexible and willing to help shape its future.
Ideally you will have:
- a postgraduate qualification in health or another science discipline (including information or library science)
- skills and experience in critical appraisal of health literature, including non-randomised and uncontrolled studies
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- an understanding of the principles of evidence-based health care
- ability to establish effective working relationships.
The post will be based at the Institute's offices in central London. The salary will be between 30,000 and 38,000 pounds depending on experience.
