It's been great to hear from all of you who are able to come to the meeting
on September 24th. I forgot to mention that directions to the venue can be
found on the website: www.westminster.gov.uk Libraries and Archives section.
I have now been able to formalise the agenda:
The supplier attending will be Diagonal Solutions, one of their products is
Wisdom which is an Electronic Document and Records Management product.
Designed in the light of guidance from the Public Records Office, and added
to the PRO's list of approved ERM products in January 2001, it provides an
integrated solution for all aspects of information management. Wisdom is an
intuitive tool which sits within a Microsoft desktop environment and
provides a high-degree of integration with day-to-day business processes.
The system enables the indexing of any entity, physical or electronic. If
the entity is electronic, it is securely stored on the network and may be
accessed on-line, subject to appropriate user security permissions. If the
electronic entity has textual content, integration with free-text retrieval
engines such as Excalibur's Retrievalware provides a full "search on
content" capability. More details are available on their web site:
www.diagonal-solutions.co.uk
Keith Batchelor will be talking about BSI's involvement in the Freedom of
Information Act and the publications it is producing.
If you would like to attend the meeting, please see the whole agenda on the
posting I made last week, and let me know on [log in to unmask]
so that I can add your name to the list.
I look forward to hearing from people and meeting you all on September 24th.
