italian-studies: Scholarly discussions in any field of Italian studies
The Gabinetto Vieusseux and the Biblioteca e Bottega Fioretta Mazzei,
English Cemetery, Florence, will co-host The City and the Book
International Congress III, 3-5 June 2004. The congress will concentrate on
the cosmopolitan community present in Florence at the Risorgimento and will
include papers on Jean Pierre Vieusseux, the Brownings, the Landors, Sir
John Roddam Spencer Stanhope, Hiram Powers, Fedor Dostoevsky, etc.
There will be a concurrent Book Fair, as in past years, for Italian and
foreign publishers of relevant books.
