LUCAS is delighted to announce the publication of "Essays in Honour of
Michael Cook" which was timed to coincide with its recent international
conference, Political Pressure and the Archival Record. We hope that it
represents a fitting recognition of Michael's contribution to our profession
Michael Cook's career in archives spans almost 50 years. During this time
he has been at the forefront of almost every field of development in
archives and records management. this volume of essays, written by some of
his international friends and colleagues, reflects the breadth and depth of
this contribution, in areas as diverse as automation, education and the
development and application of professional standards. Contributors from
China, Africa, Japan, Canada, Portugal, Belgium, America and the UK have
joined together to celebrate his lasting impact on the international
