Textile History Announcement
Textile History, the British journal which seeks to foster research and
publications on the history of textiles in all their aspects, has recently
appointed two new editors. Beverly Lemire (University of New Brunswick,
Canada) and Lesley Miller (University of Southampton) have since introduced
two new sections to the journal. The first, 'Object Lessons', is intended to
introduce non-specialists to the range of resources existing in, and
research issues relating to, museum collections. The second, 'Research
Notes', will include short articles on archival resources and data which it
is hoped will promote further study. Textile History is also expanding its
book reviews section to reflect the recent growth in studies relating to the
history of textiles and dress, and to cover major exhibitions.
The editors invite submission of original articles as well as brief
communications such as exhibition reviews, that fall within the journal's
wide remit. Manuscripts should be sent, in the first instance, to Beverley
Lemire, Department of History, University of New Brunswick, PO Box 4400,
Fredericton, NB, Canada E3B 5A3, ([log in to unmask]), or Lesley Miller, History
of Art and Design, University of Southampton, Park Avenue, Winchester,
Hampshire SO23 8DL, UK ([log in to unmask]). Suggestions for book reviews are
welcomed by Patricia Allerston, History, School of History and Classics,
University of Edinburgh, William Robertson Building, 50 George Square,
Edinburgh EH3 6RT, UK ([log in to unmask]).
