Dear all,
Apologies for cross posting.
Over the past six months there has been considerable debate in a variety
of fora, including the IMS Global Learning Consortium, JISC, UKOLN,
LTSN and the CETIS SIGs, over the issue of identifiers for learning
objects. The CETIS Metadata Special Interest Group recently held a
meeting to discuss UK Higher and Further Education's requirements for
learning object identifiers within the context of the IEEE LOM.
However we are aware that different sectors of the educational community
will have different requirements which may necessitate a range of
solutions, which in turn could have a considerable impact on the
interoperability of educational content. To this end, CETIS are hosting
a meeting in London on Tuesday the 21st of October to discuss these
issues with a wider group of stakeholders. If you would like to
attend this meeting please contact me the address below no later than
the 21st of September. Due to venue capacity we will have to restrict
numbers to 30 participants.
