This a common form called variously a bottle, owl or costrel. Howeevr, the
chances are its is post-med and probaly c19/early C20. A lot of these turn
up in Verwood ware from Dorset with a yellow/orange glaze and the fabric
can be oxidised- but it is impossible to be sure without seeing it. They
also have horozontal scored lines on the shoulders. See A. McGarva, _
