Yes: for the general public, replicas should be quite acceptable. In
fact, I have seen replicas alongside originals, where the replica has be
'restored' so as to make it and the original comprehensible. I don't
think this is a BAD THING, especially for children, who can't
necessarily be expected to imagine what a damaged artefact originally
