So is it the British government that does not care, or the voters? Britain
could afford to do this if it wanted to. I see lots of money going to other
things. If archaeology is only thought of as a small special interest
group, then what is the point of doing all of this in the name of the
public? What about funding from other sources? Do the various foundations
that provide grant money only care about university studies, museums and
documentation? Is there no lobbying for better security measures?
