I would call it psychotic. It is the same psychosis that has some fathers
murdering their families when they lose their job and cannot support their
family. Less grim, of course, but the same psychosis. A belief that only
they can be in control of something and that no one else has a right to it.
It is related, perhaps to the idea that people should be killed for
stealing artifacts. Many murderers express justification for their crimes,
that to them, is perfectly logical. Scary stuff!
