Never mind the wild north of Devon, the general belief seems to be that
nothing much happened post-prehistoric north of the M5 once you get
past Bristol. However, this could just be my jaundiced and cynical
personal view on things. Certainly, Dr Juleff's work on Exmoor seems to
have helped a bit, but one does get the feeling that the area is a bit
