medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Dear All,
Rejoice with me!
This past week, I found the inventory of the three chests of documents
Elector John of Saxony took with him to the Diet of Augsburg, June, 1530.
As Lowell Green suggested, they are indeed colour-coded. The black and
white chests contain documents of a legal and political nature. Those in
the black chest seem -- as best I can translate their titles so far -- to
be of a more general nature while those in the white have more local
application. The red chest seems to contain only documents of a
theological nature.
The inventory is on pages 134-138 of volume I of Karl Eduard Foerstemann's
<I>Urkundenbuch zu der Geschichte des Reichstages zu Augsburg im Jahre
1530(/I>.
To all the well-wishers on the list, my hearty thanks.
With regards to all and wishes for a pleasant and fruitful summer, I
remain
Your grateful disciple,
Frank
