In the urban planning literature, it is referred to as hierarchies of
acceptance scale. Articles about facility siting for dis/abled persons using
the hierarchies model have been written by Michael Dear, Lois Takahashi et
al as well as one article by Rob Wilton. I have problems with the hierarchy
list as it rates some disabled persons as more desirable than others. This
pits disabled persons against one another. Not a constructive strategy for
advocating social justice! Lilith
