Apologies for potential cross postings (but please forward on to anyone you
think may be interested...)
This is a quick note to say that details of the 'Exploring solutions to
'graffiti' in Newcastle upon Tyne' project, where collective action is
ongoing (with PEANuT currently working with a number of local writers and
officials in collectively exploring actionable solutions to 'graffiti' in
the city, and with a paper being drawn up for submission to Newcastle City
Councils' Cabinet to propose the development of a legal site policy in the
city) are now available from the new PEANuT (Participatory Evaluation and
Appraisal in Newcastle upon Tyne) project web-pages.
They can be accessed via the following link:
On these pages you will also find details of the following:
* what (and whom) PEANuT is!;
* participatory appraisal (PA);
* our PA practitioner support role;
* our PA training provision; and
* our PA-based research and consultancy work.
Within the last of these sections there is a focus on the use of
participatory appraisal within 'research' projects (emphasising PA's three
pronged approach of 'research', education' and 'collective action'). This
is exemplified through links to two projects PEANuT has been involved in, or
taken a lead role in delivering:
* the 'Exploring solutions to 'graffiti' in Newcastle upon Tyne'
* the 'Advancing Financial Inclusion in Newcastle upon Tyne' project,
which has since spawned the development of Financial Inclusion Newcastle Ltd
through the receipt of funding of around £1,000,000 since the end of the
main research period; and
Both of these sub-sections have pdf 'executive summaries' of the final
reports available for download, alongside details of how to obtain the
respective project reports.
We hope you find the site useful (and/or interesting) - if you have any
comments/feedback/questions/queries/money, please get in touch!
