Lecturer in 20th-Century German Culture

We are seeking a lecturer with broad teaching and research interests in
German culture, eg. literature, history, philosophy, film, media &/or
visual arts, to join this strongly interdisciplinary School (5 RAE).
You will teach German language as well as content courses, to both
specialists and non-specialists in German, across a range of
programmes; supervise graduate German Studies students and also
contribute to a new interdisciplinary MA in European Cultures. The post
is tenable from 1 October 2003.
Applicants should be fluent in German, with a PhD, or its equivalent,
and a highly promising research and publications profile. The ability
to teach the cultural history of the earlier 20th-century is essential,
although applicants with other research interests are welcome (an
interest in cultural theory, film or visual arts would be preferred).
Salary range: £24,325 to £27,585 pa inc (depending on qualifications
and experience).
