Lecturer in German (Temporary) (ref. 9402)
Department of German
Working in the Department of German, you will have recently completed, or
be close to completion of, a PhD in the field of German and Austrian
Studies, and may have existing publications. You will be expected to make a
full contribution to the Department's research profile and must demonstrate
clearly formulated postdoctoral research plans. You must be committed to
high quality and innovative teaching which draws in part on your own area
of subject expertise. Applications are welcomed from specialists in any
area of German and Austrian Studies, but preference may be given to
applicants who can teach in the field of modern German and Austrian history
and/or Middle High German. Native or near-native competence in German is
essential. Previous teaching experience at University level, including
German language, would be highly desirable. You will be expected to
undertake a share of the administrative and pastoral duties in the
Department. The appointment will initially be for two years, commencing 1st
