The Service Sector Research Unit and the Mercia Institute of Enterprise are
hosting a seminar at the University of Birmingham on June 18, 2003:
"Ethical Businesses and Consumers: creating and managing sustainable practices"
Following Enron and other recent corporate scandals there has been an increase in
interest by the public, governmental regulators and professional bodies in the ethics
of practices of and within corporations. This seminar explores how organisations
might organise themselves along ethical lines, how customers react to these efforts,
and how organisations do and should respond to crises that erupt. Through case
examples and theoretical insights, this seminar aims to examine how organisations
might progress towards more ethical and sustainable practices.
The Seminar will be held in Room 125, Geography and Environmental Science Building,
The University of Birmingham, Edgbaston, Birmingham B15 2TT
