I'm not sure why you discuss this the way that you do, but if you wanted to
keep the discussion on topic a short reminder of my mistake would have been
enough. OK, I see that it was my bad command of the English language which
originally led me off the beaten track, but to me it still remains a valid
discussion, even if the artefacts in question have nothing to do with
The Sakkara model was not my way to prove anything at all, just a reminder
that models of flying originals existed, and that therefore such models,
whether airworthy or not, could exist in Roman times. I am not a
'Danikenist', not do I see aliens at every corner, not do I see and 'secret
archives of archaeology' flying about. I think it was clear from my
reservations that I am not someone that "wishes to continue the "Ancient
Astronaut" discussion here", so why you keep referring to such theories I
fail to see, other than to ridicule me, and this topic once more.
Similarly, I pointed to Leonardo and his ideas and designs of avionics just
because it is not common to associate him with alien nonsense.
Btw, I disagree with you up to a point that Leonardo would be so different
from the Romans that it is not possible to make a comparison. I never said
any of Leonardo's contraptions could fly, nor did I suggest that any model
ever found could, while I stressed that the Romans surely never produced
anything capable of flight. The comparison was only made to make the point
that Roman 'scholars' could have been doing the same as Leonardo.
I entered aliens into that comparison because I think that no-one (not even
a 'Danikenist') would even contemplate the thought that Leonardo received
his 'advanced' ideas though alien intervention. But when someone is prepared
to discuss any such 'advanced' ideas in a Roman context, this seems only
good for a laugh and ridicule.
You are right to point to the example of the Vedic literature, which shows
that at least ideas about flying are very old. Why, then, would the Romans
not have had such ideas? Please leave out any references to aliens and
'Danikenists'. The subject may be ridiculous for you to discuss, so why then
discuss it at all? Or if you do, please read the original posts or react to
it more accurately.
With kind regards,
