I can't lay my hands on the EPNS Surrey volume for the moment, but a glance
at A.D. Mills, A Dictionary of London Place Names (Oxford, 2001), p.21
(which presumably gives the same information) indicates why it is a mistake
to unthinkingly mock onomasts.
