That would have just brought them the 1000 messages from people telling
them what a bad idea it was. I posted here a few days ago, IIRC, about
this being the 'Second-guessing Age'.

Not very cordial. Which is preferable - spending time on private offence
or the chance to introduce people to real archaeology - even if the
invitation to do the latter was clumsily handled?
