I have conducted a literature review to try to identify evidence of the
effectiveness of alternative models of primary care out of hours provision.
I would like to know if anyone is aware of any studies that have been done
of alternatives to a GP based service (i.e. not practice based, GP
deputising services or GP co-operatives).
I would also like to know if anyone is planning a service (should the new
GMS contract be accepted and most GPs opt-out of out of hours care) that
utilises more nurses, paramedics, pharmacists or other professionals.
Many thanks
