medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Hi Everyone,
Can anyone tell me if they know for a fact that Pope Leo II was ever
interred in Ferrara?
All of my sources (and I've got lots) claims he was buried in St. Peter's
along with the other Leos, which is what I believe to be true. However, my
rare Renzo Montini book is in Italian so I can't precisely figure out what
he says, although he gives an epitaph for Leo II that places him in Ferrara.
Can anyone explain this?
Thanks in advance,
Wendy Reardon
