Dear All
Apologies to those for whom this is not relevant - and especially to those
who get the message twice, but Queen Mary Geography Department has a new
initiative to attract visiting international scholars to spend some of
their sabbatical time with us in London.
The full advert for the scheme is attached - details reproduced below.
It is not open to those who are currently based in Universities in the UK.
Thanks
Jane

VISITING SCHOLARSHIPS
Academics who are planning to take sabbatical leave are invited to apply
for the position of International Visiting Scholar in the Department
of Geography, Queen Mary, University of London.
The Department of Geography at QMUL, graded 5A in RAE (2001), has an
international reputation for theoretically-informed, empirically-grounded
and politically-engaged research. We welcome applications from scholars
whose work and interests coincide with the research themes of the
Department: Inequality and social justice; Health and population dynamics;
Culture, space and power; Quaternary environmental change; and Fluid
processes.
The Department will pay up to £1000 towards the cost of air-fares and will
provide desk, computer, library and office facilities for a period of up to
eight weeks. Although we are unable to provide accommodation in London, the
College has rooms that can be hired for £30 a night.
The Visiting Scholar will be expected to take part in Departmental research
activities and to give a research seminar to staff and graduate students.
All those who are interested are advised to contact Jenn Page, Departmental
Secretary ([log in to unmask]) or a member of academic staff in the
