Question for John Ryan.
Can everyone start advertising their jobs here? If Yes..... fine. If
No......fine. But can we have some judgement?
JUDGEMENT:
Look, the list has helped people out in the past by matching those in want
with those in need. Some of these appointments have then led to successful,
fruitful appointments at higher specialty training level. Great.
My view Iis that the list should not replace bmj.com classifieds section but
I think that international liasion and a common sense approach of offering
something different is fine particularly if it gives rise to developments
within the specialty by providing innovative opportunities. I am happy for
a loose arrangement to exist in this regard re: 'advertising jobs' but
flagrant abuse would of course be unhelpful for what we are about.

I make no apology for advertising but Australasia a great place for
Emergency Medicine. I have no regrets leaving the troubled shores of the UK
for greener pastures.
So if you are a staff grade looking for a change whilst things get sorted
out in the UK...Why not try working in New Zealand? I have some upcoming
vacancies for staff grades or SpRs (though the JCHTA&E indicate that only 3
months will count against the CCST in the latter case)
If interested you can contact me off list at [log in to unmask]

I think that Adrian and Fiona are right. It was VERY galling to find that
SHO's year 1 are earning around 41K/year.
--> ...Or do you mean you find SG's pay too low. NOT the SHOs fault.
