Dear All,
Suffolk County Council will soon be opening the doors of their most up to
date library. The ASK Lowestoft Centre is Suffolk libraries flagship
project.
In addition to the usual library services, Lowestoft library will offer an
on-line learning centre, the first in Suffolk. This will be ran with
Lowestoft College to provide ICT training. The library will also home a
local service centre (another first for Suffolk) providing a one-stop-shop
for Council services. There will also be a new children's library and a
record office search room, and even a coffee shop.
The library will offer longer opening hours and Sunday opening. The official
launch will be late February.
Suffolk County Council are pleased to announce that their 2nd beacon event
will take place at the Lowestoft Library prior to the official launch. On
the 10th March 2003, we will be holding a day focusing on learning, with a
chance to tour the new library and try out its facilities.
The day is completely free of charge and will be well worth the journey
east. The day's programme is attached below. Places will be limited, so to
secure yours please contact me without delay.
This is your opportunity to experience a truly innovative library first
hand. I hope you'll be there.
