Do you want to know more about or influence learning technology
standardization in Europe?
The latest eBrochure, number 5, is available online. It contains information
about the activities of the CEN/ISSS Learning Technology Workshop.
As well as general updates, this issue focuses on the new projects for which
experts have recently been appointed.
1. Interoperability frameworks for exchange of information between diverse
management systems
The aim is to provide interoperability specifications for a range of
information exchange, initially aimed at school systems but also applicable
in a wider lifelong learning context. This work item will support the
outputs of the OASIS (Open Architecture and Schools in Society)
and the SIF (Schools Interoperability Framework) projects.
2. Handling of Learner Profiles in IT - supported learning environments from
a European perspective
The project deals with the development of data models, protocols and
bindings that are capable of expressing specific European requirements and
concerns for learner information.
3. Learning Technology Standards Observatory
The observatory will be a dynamic, multilingual web site containing
information about standardization bodies, specifications and relationships
between them.
The next meeting of the Workshop is on 24-25 March 2003 in Paris, France
