Like Niall, I'm concerned about a worst possible scenario which
might require curatorial archaeology services to hand over data to
commercial archaeological consultants. I'm sure we've all had request for
digital data in the past. Demands for all of it, using EU legislation such
as this, won't be fun to deal with.
Because of this, I've forwarded the original email to the head of
our Information Unit. He was aware of the existence of the Directive, but
not of the amendments. He's considering the implications. I'll post
anything that comes out of this.
