Dear Listmembers,
We have been having an interesting discussion recently about the concept of
self-plagiarism, particularly where students submit the same piece of work
for two different assignments. Opinions are divided as to whether lecturers
are to blame for setting assignments so close in nature that this is
possible, and students commended for using their initiative or whether
plagiarism should be discouraged/punished no matter what the form. It would
be interesting to hear the views of listmembers on this subject.
