* Topics :
In the tradition of the workshop, we have chosen a topic of simultaneous
interest to various disciplines in linguistics, thus reaffirming the
cross-disciplinary approach to research developed at the AAI (Acoustics,
Acquisition and Interpretation) research lab at the University of Nantes.
The workshop aims at bringing together researchers from different fields
(phonologists, phoneticians, psycholinguists, syntacticians, semanticists)
in order to create a forum for dialogue and research across disciplines.
The notion of domains is recurrent across disciplines with different
understandings:
- phonology: vowel harmony domains, templates, etc
- phonetics: articulatory cycles, intonational domains, etc
- syntax: anaphora/binding domains, quantification / scope domains,
locality / phases, etc
- psycholinguistics: integration units in speech and language, domains of
lexical access, etc
The workshop will question the different conceptions of the notion of
"domains" as defined within or across (sub)disciplines, and in particular,
the possible interfaces between these alternative (converging or
competing) conceptions.

- Phonology / Morphology / Syntax Interface (clitic domains, etc)
- Syntax / Semantics Interface (mapping between syntactic and semantic
domains, etc)
We encourage submission of abstracts from different disciplines in

* Submission of proposals for communication:
Deadline for submission : November, 15th 2003.
Send a two page abstract (A4 or letter, times 12) by e-mail to
[log in to unmask] Abstracts in either English or French will
be reviewed.
Please provide your affiliation / contact information, together with the
exact title of the paper, on a separate sheet. The abstract itself should
not show the author's name.
A maximum of one sole-author presentation and one co-author presentation
can be allocated to any one person. Abstracts will be anonymously reviewed
by the Scientific Committee.
You may send your summary as a text, MSWord, postscript or pdf file. Note
however that, if you're making use of phonetic fonts, it is crucial to
send your document in a format which is appropriate for font transmission
(either postscript or pdf) or to use the SAMPA coding system. If you do
use SAMPA, please state this at the beginning of your abstract.
Note that the same constraints apply if you do not use text only in your
abstract (syntactic trees, graphs, tables, ...). It is then better to send
a postscript or pdf file. Note that these requests are made to ensure
that members of the Scientific Committee will not experience any
difficulty reading your paper.
* Working languages:
The working languages will be English and French
* Registration fees:
Participants: 80 euros before 1st February 2004 ; 100 euros after this

Comme lors des précédentes JEL, nous avons choisi un objet central
susceptible d'intéresser simultanément plusieurs champs de recherche, afin
de réaffirmer la dimension résolument pluridisciplinaire du travail
développé à l'AAI (acoustique, acquisition, interprétation - JE2220) ainsi
que la vocation interdisciplinaire de ces journées offrant à des
spécialistes différents (phonologues, phonéticiens, psycholinguistes,
syntacticiens...) la possibilité de se rencontrer et de s'écouter
mutuellement.
La notion de « domaine » est utilisée par divers champs de recherche
- phonologie (domaine d'harmonie, gabarits, etc)
- phonétique (cycles articulatoires, domaines intonatifs)
- syntaxe(domaine de localité / phases, domaines d'anaphore / liage, de
quantification / portée, etc)
- psycholinguistique (unités d'intégration pour le traitement de la parole
et/ou du language, domaine d'accès lexical, etc)
avec des acceptions diverses.
Le sujet proposé, « Domaines » interrogera les conceptions de cet objet
retenues par ces diverses disciplines et questionnera particulièrement les
interfaces possibles entre ces différentes conceptions du « domaine ».
- Interfaces phonologie / syntaxe (domaines de sandhis, de mutations,
intono-syntaxe)
- Interfaces morphologie / phonologie / syntaxe (domaines de cliticisation
etc)
- Interfaces syntaxe / sémantique (mapping entre domaines syntaxiques et
sémantiques)
Les propositions de communications provenant des divers champs d'étude de
la parole sont encouragées.

Envoyer un résumé de 2 pages (A4, times 12) rédigé en anglais ou en
français sans indication des auteurs à l'adresse

Le résumé sera accompagné de vos coordonnées (titre de la communication +
nom + affiliation + adresse) sur une page séparée. Les résumés seront
évalués anonymement par le comité scientifique.
Après expertise par le comité scientifique, 1 communication individuelle
et 1 communication collective au maximum pourront être attribuées à une
même personne.
Vous pouvez envoyer votre résumé au format texte, MSWord, Postscript ou
PDF. Notez cependant que si vous utilisez des polices phonétiques, il est
essentiel d'utiliser un format de fichier adapté à la transmission de ces
polices (postscript ou pdf) ou d'utiliser le système de notation SAMPA. Si
vous utilisez SAMPA, indiquez-le au début de votre résumé.
Les mêmes contraintes s'appliquent si votre résumé n'est pas constitué que
de texte (arbres syntaxiques, graphes, tableaux...). Le mieux est alors de
fournir un document postscript ou pdf. Notez que ces exigences ont pour
objet de faciliter la lecture de votre résumé par les membres du conseil
scientifique.
* Langues du colloque :
Les langues officielles de ces journées seront l'anglais et le français.
* Frais d'inscription :
Participants: 80 euros avant le 1er Février 2004 ; 100 euros après cette
date.
Communicants: 70 euros
Étudiants: 30 euros
