POSTDOCTORAL POSITION in Computer Simulations of Energy Transfer and
Chemical Reactions in Collisions of Projectile Ions with Hydrocarbon
Surfaces.
The research involves the development and application of computational
algorithms to simulate gas/surface chemical reactions, projectile
fragmentation, and energy transfer when projectile ions collide with
hydrocarbon surfaces. The reseach will include the study of peptide ion
fragmentation by surface-induced dissociation and the functionalization of
surfaces by ion bombardment. The simulations will include both MM and
QM/MM classical dynamics, and the use of mixed classical/quantum dynamics
when needed to represent quantum effects.
