"Configurational energy landscapes and structural transitions in clusters,
fluids and biomolecules" Royal Society Discussion Meeting, April 19-20 2004
This meeting will be held at the Royal Society in London and attendance is
free. Please reserve the dates in your diary now.
The meeting will be highly interdisciplinary, and will cover topics ranging
from structure and dynamics of molecular clusters, through collective
phenomena such as the glass transition and polyamorphism, to protein
folding and denaturation. The central theme will be provided by the
concept of the configurational energy landscape, that is studied in great
detail by experiment and theory for small molecules, and that is invoked
as a more general concept in studies of glasses, liquids and biomolecules.
We have assembled an interdisciplinary cast of speakers:
Ahmed Zewail, Martin Karplus, David Wales, Michele Parrinello, Carol
Robinson, Roger Miller, C Austen Angell, Chris Dobson, Peter Wolynes, John
Finney, Rich Saykally, Gene Stanley, Roland Winter, Peter Poole.
The meeting will take the format of 30 minute invited lectures followed by
