Dear Colleagues
First of all let me say thank you to all of you who replied so promptly to
my email of yesterday regarding our broken Lumonics YM600 power supply.
Your replies are appreciated and for those of you who suggested getting the
transformer specs and getting it wound that is the plan we are following.
Once we get the transformer we will be able to see if it is indeed the only
problem. Our electronics technician has looked over the power supply and
believes that transformer is the root of the problems. However that does
not rule out that some other board level components are gone as well. We
will trace and replace those as we find them.
Now to those of you who have these older Lumonics lasers I want to tell you
that there is a company in the UK which does carry some parts for these
lasers They are Innolas (UK) Ltd who can be reached at +44 (0) 1788 550777
and they also have a webpage and email addresses at
http://www.innolas.co.uk/ . They did not unfortunately have a spare
transformer for us but they do have all the specs. For those of you in
North America who have dealt in the past with Dan Morrison who had a small
company to service Lumonics products I am sorry to tell you that Dan passed
away early in December. I believe it was a heart attack. I do not know if
someone else will be taking over his business or not.
Once again "thanks"
Sincerely ........Allan Adam.
