Lynne Mayers is asking about a small "air-tight" can. Could
it have been water-tight, and used to carry a top-up of calcium
carbide for a carbide lamp? The volume, 5 cm high by 4 cm
diameter, sounds about right for a reserve supply, from what
I recall of the carbide lamps I used at Indian Copper Corporation.
