A couple of Hydroleum refs:
Bowtell H, (1991), Lesser Railways of the Yorkshire Dales, Plateway Press.
pp 51 - 57 covers the two hydroleum locos, May and Progress, supplied to
Harrogate corporation - excellent photos.
Also
Industrial Railway record No. 44 of 1972 (I haven't seen this).
Schram Locos
Can't say I have ever heard of Schram locos; however I have come across a
firm of consulting engineers R. Schram and Co. who designed a "Patent
Direct - acting Rock Drill". These drills were in use at South Wheal
Frances in 1880, Schram and Co. acting as contractors. The drills were
manufactured by Messers. Oliver and Co. of Broad Oaks Ironworks,
Chesterfield.
If Schram was also designing locos it would be interesting to know if they
were compressed air driven.
