Amnesty International
Amnesty International is recruiting two staff for its busy Audio Visual
Resources team based at its International Secretariat in London. Both
posts are permanent and require high levels of skill in responding to user
needs, teamwork ability and personal organisation.
1. Audio Visual Archivist
You will be responsible for developing and maintaining an archive of
audiovisual human rights materials (still images and time-based media) in
physical and electronic formats. You will have a professional qualification
in Archives, Librarianship and Information Science, or similar, and
experience of archiving, preserving and storing AV materials in physical
and electronic media. You should be experienced in developing and leading
projects
relating to the storage and intellectual control of archives. Knowledge and
experience of working with, database and spreadsheet software is essential
and experience of digitization projects in relation to still picture
collections is highly desirable. Fluent English is essential. Knowledge of
French, Spanish or Arabic would be an asset.

2. Audio Visual Assistant (time based)
You will have experience of and interest in working with a video or audio
archive systems, and of using various AV equipment (audio and video
recorders, satellite TV, off-air recording, sound recording, CD and DVD)
for copying, storing and converting time-based AV materials, and assessing
the results. You should have some experience of using and negotiating with
outside services and suppliers. You will need experience of
systematic classifying and record keeping. You will be experienced in Word,
spreadsheets and databases.
